What is Riddor?

RIDDOR - Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurances Regulations 2013.


RIDDOR puts duties on employers, the self-employed and people in control of work premises (the Responsible Person) to report certain serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous occurrences (near misses). 


Who should report an incident under RIDDOR?


  • A member of the public, employee, injured person or their representative
  • An employer or person(s) in control of premises


What must be reported?


  • Deaths and injuries caused by workplace accidents
  • Occupational diseases
  • Carcinogens mutagens and biological agents
  • Specified injuries to workers
  • Dangerous occurances
  • Gas incidents
